So we've been doing...

pretty much nothing these past two months other than unpacking. i got so tired of seeing brown boxes everywhere. a few days ago, i went through the house and emptied out the rest of the boxes. now there are no boxes in plain view. they are replaced, instead, by pile of things that i don't know what to do with.

the kids don't seemed to be effected by all the junk laying around. (of course, they add to the mess by leaving their toys everywhere!) they just worry that they have to stay inside the house too long. about two weeks after we got here, i signed them up for gymnastics lessons twice a week. they also attended two weeks of gymnastics camp. B and i try to find fun things for them to do, too.

we created a volcano and the kids had so much fun making it erupt!

we visited the science museum, the aquarium, and a food festival in the area.

last week, they went to vbs at the church we are attending. they each performed at the fridy night program. they had a great time!

good thing the nephews are here to entertain them. school will start soon in about a week and a half! hopefully, they'll make lots of news friends, and i'll finally have some alone time to finally organize the house.

Chef in the Making

the nephews have been really interested in helping me to cook. nephew A helped me make thai red curry, while nephew S helped with pasta with red sauce. i gotta say cooking with little helpers around is so much more fun, although it takes so much more time. can't wait until 2Z are old enough to join us.

nephew S diligently stirring the pasta!

Summer

in the 2 months that we've been here in texas, i've really gotten used to the heat! after experiencing the 105 degree weather for a week, i actually thought this week was kind of cool! we are getting a lot of use of the subdivision pool, especially with the two nephews from northern california. they really needed the cool down! needless to say, we are all pretty tan now. kudos to B for biking to work. he's the man!!!
